2026 School Holidays
The four scheduled breaks for primary and secondary schools. A few more days close the schools without closing the offices, and they are not on this list. Those are the school holidays that are not public holidays, and they are the ones that catch a working parent out.
2026 MOE Term Dates
Official term start and end dates from the Ministry of Education. The polytechnics and ITE keep their own academic year and are not in the MOE calendar, so a poly or ITE student needs the ITE and polytechnic holidays, all six calendars instead.

Common questions
What is a school holiday in Singapore?
A day MOE closes schools for students. Most of them come as the four breaks between terms, which in 2026 are March (9 days), June (30 days), September (9 days) and year-end (41 days). MOE also schedules a few single days off, such as Youth Day and Teachers' Day. A school holiday is not a public holiday: offices stay open unless the day is also gazetted.
What is a school break?
The weeks between two school terms. The Singapore school year has four terms and four breaks, in March, June, September and at the end of the year. Primary and secondary schools share the same break dates; junior colleges differ at the start and end of the year, and the polytechnics and ITE run calendars of their own.
What is the school holiday schedule for 2026?
In 2026: the March holidays 14 Mar to 22 Mar, the June holidays 30 May to 28 Jun, the September holidays 5 Sept to 13 Sept and the year-end holidays 21 Nov to 31 Dec, from the official MOE calendar.
When are the ITE and polytechnic holidays?
Neither follows the MOE school calendar. The five polytechnics start each break on different days but all end it on the same day: 18 Oct 2026, 3 Jan 2027 and 18 Apr 2027. ITE's vacations run 19 Sept 2026 to 4 Oct 2026, 12 Dec 2026 to 10 Jan 2027 and 20 Mar 2027 to 4 Apr 2027.
